Mass Meetings With PTAs of Alajo Basic School and Abavana JHS on Child/Adolecent Protection

On 24th March 2022, officers met with the Parents and Teachers Association at the Abavana Junior High School to discuss child protection. Officers identified certain issues which included,Child neglect, Poor parenting,Physical abuse, Bad peer influence, Drug abuse,Influence of social media on children amongst others.Members reminded themselves that it is not the responsibility of parents alone in training a child but also the responsibility of neighbours, co-tenants and the community as a whole.
Guardians, care takers and parents must communicate with children to know their problems and help them in solving the problems.

Mass meetings with PTAs of Alajo basic school and Abavana JHS

It was concluded that, it is difficult for a child to handle a number of problems at the same time Therefore, community members should work together to help reduce these problems children face so they can be assured of a safe and protective environment. Elizabeth Haruna was the facilitator.
